Earlier this week we covered the upcoming release of the Air Jordan 12 'Flu Game'. Jordan Brand has rerealeased the Flu Game 12’s twice since the original’s released in 1997. We wanted to take a look at the changes Nike has made to the sneaker over the years and how close the upcoming remastered pair will come to the OG pair.
The original pair featured all black smooth leather, topped with red along both sides of the sneaker. In 2003 Jordan Brand released the first retro pair changing the smooth leather to tumbled leather and leaving everything else the same as the OG 97 pair.
In 2009 Jordan Brand released the Flu Game 12’s with major changes. The most notable difference was the change of the all black material from tumbled leather to suede/nubuck. Nike also added a sickly looking emoticon and changed the tag on the back of the sneaker from red font to white. The 23 on the red heel also changed colors from black to red. Interesting to see the changes that this fan favorite has seen over the last 19 years.
